"Warning! Mercury limits on Flu vaccines have been temporarily suspended!"

We were just informed that the Secretary of Health, Mary Selecky, has extended the suspension of Washington's limit on the amount of mercury allowed in the flu vaccine.

This means that through June 30, 2012 the flu vaccine will contain higher amounts of mercury than considered safe for pregnant women and children under 3. If you or a loved one must get a flu vaccine, demand the single dose vials of flu vaccine because they do not have increased amounts of mercury.

The Washington state law permits increased amounts of mercury in vaccines when there is a shortage of vaccines. This is unacceptable, and should not be permitted.
